Busta Rhymes – Respect Magazine

Busta sits down with Elliot Wilson (Rap Radar/RESPECT) to discuss his trials and journey in his 20+ year old career in hip-hop for RESPECT magazine.  A really great read that discloses the break up of LONS from his side and the realities of his career at such a young age.  Really enlightening.  Take a gander after the jump.

The Makings of Pharcyde’s “Drop”

Thanks to the homies at GrandGood for getting this little video on one of hip-hop’s most progressive videos. Really impressed with the amount of work they put into making such a groundbreaking video.

Clark Kent talks about BIG in the early days

God’s favorite DJ, Clark Kent, speaks about BIG when he was just coming up. Funny stories about touring and trying to introduce him to Jay-Z. Reminds me of the relationship between me and my high school friend, Pup. Miss ya homie. Its been a rough 2 weeks, so the anniversary of BIG’s death doesn’t make me smile but makes me celebrate the memory of what “we” had. RIP BIG. Thanks, Riq, for the link.

Nas reminisces about Cassettes

Kid Cudi and Olivia Munn

Nas sits with TDK (remember those?!) to talk about his love for tapes back in the day and how important they were to the hip-hop culture.  He digresses on recording radio shows to some of his heroes in the game.  Although we use different media now, the feeling of capturing a moment, vibe, and emotion remain the same.  I threw up a pic of Olivia Munn to get your attention, the video is after the jump.

Brownman speaks on Guru & Solar

Brownman was the trumpeter for Guru on his most recent Jazzmatazz projects & also toured with him. He also had first hand experience and insight to Solar’s abuse of Guru.  F*ck Solar got their hands on an 8,000 word interview with Brownman and The Boston Phoenix.  F*ck Solar has been consistent and vigilant in exposing Solar for the exploitation and abuse he’s had on one of our culture’s iconic MCs.  Salute to them!  Full Interview after the break.  Warning you, its not pretty and will make you pretty angered.

History of the Biz Doll

After seeing the Biz Doll in the recent “Barbra Streisand” video, I went on a little internet hunt for the info on the Biz Doll. Not only did I learn some of the background info on why Biz wasn’t on Masta Ace’s “Me & The Biz” (where the Biz doll first appeared), I found this video of Chairman Mao from Ego Trip, talking about where he’s been. Enjoy!
